New York Fashion: Fun & Frolick

Every so often we come across a jewelry line that’s so fun and colorful it makes us smile from ear to ear. Such is the case with Frolick Jewelry, a name so suitable we imagine that creator Adrienne Lee must have felt the same way when she first combined her distinctive materials together.

Working in Japanese vintage glass, lucite, Italian alabaster, cinnabar, crystals, semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and brass filigree, Frolick’s fresh combos add a splash of colorful fun to even the dullest of duds. The self-taught, Atlanta-based designer dedicates her craft to just such a mission – creating bold, beautiful designs that make any outfit “smile.” At only 15, Lee recognized her calling, first as a pastime, then full-time in 2004 thanks to an overwhelming desire to share her love of design and beauty with the world.

“I wanted to design an affordable line of hand-crafted jewelry that offered a unique spectrum of color and a wide variety of styles,” Lee says. “Some pieces in my collection are delicate and soft, while others are edgy and bold. Much of my inspiration comes from butterflies. They are so varied in shape, color and size, but somehow, each butterfly compliments another to create a grand symphony of color. Just like a butterfly, each piece of Frolick jewelry is a unique little treasure.” And an inexpensive piece of joy that also pleases the budget.
